Filipino Wushu Fighter Wins Martial Combat 5 Title by: James U. Sy Jr.

University Reality Combat Championships (URCC) welterweight champion and Wushu champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang of Team Lakay Wushu (Baguio) defeated
She Ri Gu Leng of Mongolia to win the superfight lightweight title during the Martial Combat 5 on Jluy 14, 2010 at the Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

The Mongolian looked good in his stand up early on but Folayang took him down in the next rounds and pounded him. The judges gave him a unanimous decision victory.

Folayang was crowned champion in his category in Wushu Sanshou in the last two SEA Games. He took the silver medal in the 2006 Doha Asian Games and bronze medals in the the 2002 Busan Asian Games and the 2005 World Wushu Championship.

Folayang won the URCC welterweight crown by defeating Allan Co. Then he invaded the middleweight division and took the title from the much larger Caloy Baduria via ground and pound. He disposed Jerome Narita in 52 seconds with strikes at the Gorilla Warfare MMA on March 28, 2010 in Saipan.

Folayang successfully defended his RCC welterweight title against Dooje Chung of NEO Fight Korea by stopping him at 3:15 of the first round.
