60 elderly residents of Asilo de Molo in Iloilo City partook on an afternoon snacks, which included siopao and juice, given by 5 visitors last August 16, 2010.

Hosting the visitors was Sr. Leticia Silmete, DC, sister in charge of Asilo de Molo. Asilo de Molo was founded in 1912 as a home for orphans and the elderly but later it became apparent that there are other institutions that offer shelter to orphaned children but none for the elderly. Because of this, Asilo de Molo then became an exclusive sanctuary for the elderly, as of press time, the only one of its kind in Panay.

The visitors-donors were Cristita “Tata” P. Lim, Mary Salve L. Pe, Camille Manuel, Colleen Manuel, and James U. Sy Jr.

The elderly residents, most of them in a wheelchair, were represented by a few brave souls who gave song numbers. Of the 60 elderly residents, only five were males.

The visitors, on the other hand, conducted a few games where prizes were given to the lucky residents. Sy gave an Arnis demonstration for the residents.
