TEXTBOOK BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU. John Kenny Ausente of New Life Jiu-jitsu showed his mastery of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as he applied an armbar on Lester Doromal of Tribu Hangaway Philippines (photos 1-2), brought him in his guard (photo 3), and mount him (photo 4) during their 5-minute action-packed bout during the Tribe W.A.R. (Warrior’s Art Rumble) XXVIII on May 21, 2017 at the Event Center, 888 Premiere Mall (James U. Sy Jr. photo). The Tribe W.A.R. (Warrior’s Art Rumble) XXVIII was successfully held by the Tribu Hangaway Philippines (THP) of Founder/Master Roy R. Flores Sr. On May 21, 2017 at the Event Center, 888 Premiere Mall, Gatuslao St., Bacolod City. Founder/Master Ricardo Filipinas and members of his Sacred Ki Art of Foot Kighting (SKAFF) - Lucien T. Aguirre, Maegen Julienne A. Uy, Justine Xavier U. Vasquez, and John Vincent A. Tallada - gave a demonstration of Karate and Taekwondo forms and self defense techniques. Tribu Hangaway Philippines (THP) members was led by Founder/Master Roy R. Flores Sr. In demonstrating the breakfalls and various self defense techniques against grabs, punches, kicks, and weapons of the Japanese pacifist art of Aikido. Founder/Master James U. Sy Jr. of the Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), Inc. with the assistance of Reiss Rios of THP demonstrated minimal-move Conceptual Arnis System self defense techniques against grabs and knife attacks. WUSHU SANSHOU COMPETITION. The Hon. Mayor Eddie Montero-sponsored Escalante City Team under Trainor Jesus “Jess” Flores of Thunder Kick Martial Arts Club won 2 of 8 bouts fought with no losses (The other players did not have opponents), followed by Tribu Hangaway Philippines (THP) under Master Roy R. Flores Sr. (2-1), Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association (PIMAA-FTSDA), Inc. Under Founder/Grandmaster Elmer V. Montoyo and Master Elmer “Don-Don” P. Montoyo (2-2), Tigers Team under Dundee Visitacion (1-1), the Hon. Ernesto A. Estrao-sponsored Hinobaan Team under Sherwin G. Nunesco (1-2), and Iloilo Combat Sports (ICS) under Bodie Galotera and Fight Club under Edwin Tusil (0-1 each). Kenneth Madalag of PIMAA-FTSDA won over Stephan Salvador of Hinobaan. Vincent Natael of Escalante over Truah Nunesco of Hinobaan. Smith Huila of Escalante over Rhovic Madalag of PIMAA-FTSDA. Christian Sa-onoy of PIMAA-FTSDA over Charlie Jene Pabores of ICS. Danny Argel of THP over Kim Catedrilla of Tigers Team. Kyle Salvador of Hinobaan over Israel Guevarra of THP. Reymart Espera of THP over Renald Homa of FC. Jowil Saludo of Tigers Team over Stephen Parreno of PIMAA-FTSDA. NI GI GRAPPLING COMPETITION. New Life Jiu-jitsu-Bacolod under Ken Toledo won 2 out of 3 matches fought; the other was won by Iloilo Combat Sport (ICS) under Bodie Galotera. Benhur Gonzales of ICS over Radspier Estrilla of NLJ. John Kenny Ausente of NLJ over Lester Doromal of THP. Errol Franco of NLJ forced a tapout from Japhet Jimeanea of THP at 4:55 with a rear naked choke, the only submission in the tournament. Officials were Andrew G. Tumonong, Master Teacher I, Ayungon Elementary School, La carlota City, National Wushu Sanshou Referee and Sideline Judge (Referee), Founder/Master Roy R. Flores Sr. of THP (Referee/Tournament Organizer-Manager), Founder/Chief Instructor Edwin Tusil of Fight Club (Referee), Founder/Master James U. Sy Jr. of (CMAS (Master of Ceremonies), Rozyl Mohametano of Mantas Daga, Patrick Carlo Barrera, Reggie Nado of Esclaante City, and Jerry Mark de la Cruz of THP (Sideline Judges), and Roy Flores Jr. And Mark Mayang of THP (Timers).
