Mamugay Promoted to Manunudlo II in Conceptual Arnis

Diomedes N. Mamugay, Founder/Chief Instructor of the San Carlos Jungle Fighter Martial Arts Club (SACA JUFIMAC), receives his Manunudlo II rank in the Conceptual Arnis System by Founder/Master of Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), Inc., with Founder/Grandmaster Felix A. Mamugay, Founder/Chief Instructor of the San Carlos Jungle Fighter Martial Arts Club (SACA JUFIMAC), was awarded his Manunudlo II rank in the Conceptual Arnis System by Master/Founder of Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), Inc., during the 2nd Salvador Benedicto Arnis Tournament “Mayor Jose Max ‘Joemax’ S. Ortiz S. Ortiz Cup” last February 9, 2016 at the Covered Court, Salvador Benedicto as part of the 33rd Founding Anniversary of the town and its 26th Kali-Kalihan Harvest Festival. Manunudlo II is so far the highest rank awarded by Sy in his system and Mamugay is the first to be so honored. Mamugay, who is one of the most active, if not the most active, instructors in San Carlos City, specializes in teaching school-based students and the out-of-school youth to channel their energies to more productive activities and discourage them in abusing prohibited drugs and engaging in other undesirable vices. He has and still teaches Karate, Sipa Sumbag (Kickboxing), Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Wushu Sanshou, Taekwondo, and Arnis. Currently he overseas and supervises the training of at least 100 students in 14 clubs: SACA JUFIMAC-Main, SACA JUFIMAC-Brgy. 6, SACA JUFIMAC-Brgy. Guadalupe, SACA JUFIMAC-Julio Ledesma National High School (JLNHS), Central Philippien State University-San Carlos Campus, Centralian Fighters Fighter Martial Arts Club (CEFIMAC), Ritarians Martial Arts Club (RMAC), Greenvillian Martial Arts Club (GMAC), Red Dragon Fighters (Calatrava), SACA JUFIMAC-Florentina Ledesma Elementary School Martial Arts Club, SACA JUFIMAC-Pontevedra, SACA JUFIMAC-Bacolod, Tañon College Arnis Club, and Thomasians Arnis Club of Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos. Mamugay is also ranked 3rd degree black belt in Combat Taekwondo under Modern Combat Taekwondo and 2nd degree black belt in Karate under the Golden Armor Karate-do International and NAJUKAJU-A. Mamugay started learning the Conceptual Arnis System on March 11, 2005 from Sy, every time he was in San Carlos for official business and was awarded by Sy his Manunudlo I rank in the system nearly 7 years later, on February 18, 2012 during the 2nd Hon. Mayor Ramon D. Torres Arnis Tournament on the occasion of the 46th Charter Day of Bago City. Mamugay has also taught barangay tanods, security guards, and students who became police officers. His team has represented San Carlos in tournaments in Bacolod, Bago, Canlaon, Escalante, Salvador Benedicto, and Victorias among others.
