CASAP Anti Drug Abuse Symposium Held By James U. Sy Jr.

The “Anti Drug Abuse Symposium” was successfully held by the College of Arts & Science of Asia & the Pacific (CASAP)-Bacolod Campus thru Event Organizer and IT Instructor Ara Patricia Cordova and Symposium Facilitator and Business Instructor James U. Sy Jr. with the full support of faculty members, the College Dean Maximo F. Torrento Jr., and School Director Jun C. Montaño, MPA,for college and senior high students on December 9, 2016 at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (NOMPAC), Bacolod City. About 1,300 students were in attendance.
Resource speakers from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) were P/Supt. Danilo V. Francisco Jr., Deputy City Director for Operations (DCDO), who spoke in behalf of S/Supt. Flynn E Dongbo, Acting City Director (ACD); Pastor Enrique Cansino. Director for BCPO PNP InterFaith, and Pastor Steve P. Solidum, also of BCPO PNP InterFaith; and PO1 Daisy C. Daclangin (PSSM) and PO1 Karyl Cristina P. Pescuela (Tokhang).
College faculty members present who helped make the event a success were Donna T. Bugador, Stephen Steve O. Descutido, Rose Jean S. Espelita, Mark Allen C. Margallo, Shane M. Oñate, and Alexandra H. Uberas. The 32-man strong Senior High faculty members under the leadership of their President Devie Uy were also present to give support to the activity.
The resource speakers oriented students on the ill effects of illegal substance abuse to a person’s mental, physical, and spiritual well being and talked about the government’s program to rid the country of the drug menace.
