WFP-Negros Occidental member organizations had organized a total of not less than 7 tournaments since the formal introduction of wushu sanshou and wushu taolu in the city and the province by WFP National Head Coach Yu Zhi Bo of Beijing, China last July 12-13, 2003.
Wushu sanshou, as defined by National Head Coach Yu Zhi Bo, is not a style of Chinese martial art but rather a set of rules wherein exponents from different styles of wushu (a.k.a. kung fu) can compete regardless of their stylistic preference for striking or throwing. Over time, other martial artists from Karate, Judo, Muay Thai, Western Boxing, etc. had joined wushu sanshou events to gain an idea how their own arts measure up to other disciplines.
WFP-Negros Occidental President Amante is supported by the officers of WFP-Negros Occidental: Master Elmer V. Montoyo of PIMAA-FTSDA (VP-Central Negros), Diomedes N.
