Taloc, Bago City , Negros Occidental as part of the purok’s Annual Fiesta Celebration.

But unlike the first edition which was a tournament, the 2nd installment of the event will exclusively be an exposition of various forms of martial arts.

The 1st Brgy. Taloc Martial Arts Showdown, held last April 20, 2007, also in Prk. Langka, featured 3 different martial arts competition formats namely, Arnis, Sipa Sumbag (Kickboxing), and Western Boxing. 13 martial arts organizations from Bago and Bacolod Cities took part in the event.

Expected groups to support the event include Abalajon Classical Arnis of Grandmaster Frank Abalajon, Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), Inc. of Foudners/Masters James U. Sy Jr. and Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado, Jamili Boxing Club of Gil “Dodong” Jamili, KaliSilat Arnis Association (KAA) and Traditional Shotokan Karate Arts (TSKA) of Grandmaster Danilo “Danny” Cardinal, Negros United Fighting Arts Academy (NUFAA) of Founder/Grandmaster Jose “Joe” Mancesa, Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association (PIMAA-FTSDA) of Master Elmer V. Montoyo, Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association (OFTLSFA), Inc. of GM Benefredo “Bebing” M. Lobrido, Tapondo International Federation Inc. (TIFI) and Tribu Hangaway of Master Roy R. Flores Sr., etc.

The exposition is expected to draw the interest of the younger generation in the martial arts, especially in the indigenous Filipino Martial Art (FMA) of Arnis/Eskrima. Negros Occidental is an untapped FMA power with not less than 45 styles of Arnis founded/developed in the Negros Island found by CMAS. Original Filipino Tapado, itself, the most powerful form of long stickfighting in the Negros Island , was founded in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City by the late Founder/Grandmaster Romeo “Nono” C. Mamar, the uncle of GM Lobrido and the father of Kagawad Tokong.
