Extra Joss M.A. Expo Set By: James U. Sy Jr.

An exhibition of various martial arts disciplines will unfold during the 1st Regional Monthly Draw of Extra Joss Extra La Cash Part 2 this coming May 20, 2006, 1:00 P.M., at the Atrium Area, Gaisano City Bacolod Supermall, Brgy. Singcang, Araneta St., Bacolod City.

The event is being organized by ABS-CBN’s Barney Molina and will be featured as a 5 minute segment of Sabado Barkada scheduled for telecast on May 27, 2006 over at ABS-CBN. The martial arts exhibitions will jumpstart and punctuate the show and will symbolize the “lakas” one gets from drinking Extra Joss.

The Bacolod Aikido Enthusiasts (BAE) of Founder/Chief Instructor Maxwell “Max” J. Maun Sensei will be representing the Japanese pacifist art of Aikido “the way of the harmonious spirit.” Their demonstration will include the various methods neutralizing attacks using kansetsu waza “joint controls” and nage waza “projection techniques.”

The combined contingent of the Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), Inc. of Founders Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado and James U. Sy Jr., Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association (OFTLSFA) of Grandmaster Benefredo “Bebing” M. Lobrido, Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy-Filipino Tang Soo Do Association (PIMAA-FTSDA) of Master Elmer V. Montoyo, and the Negros United fighting Arts Academy (NUFAA) of Grandmaster Jose "Joe" Mancesa will represent Negrense Filipino Martial Arts (NFMA) traditions from the south, particularly Bacolod, Bago, and Bayawan Cities including solo baston, sinawali, tapado, and pangamut.

The Arnis de Mano Assosacion de Silay (AMAS) of former Arnis Philippines (Arpi) Commissioner Grandmaster Felipe “Totong” Hilado will be representing the Negrense Filipino Martial Arts (NFMA) traditions from the north, particularly from Silay City.

Primary master of ceremonies for the martial arts exhibitions will be Maun Sensei.
