The 8th chapter/branch of the Conceptual Martial Arts Society (CMAS), CMAS-Iloilo, was recently formalized by CMAS-Main core member Raymund Antonio Maguad of Murcia in Iloilo City. The group was started last June 2005 as an informal study group focusing on the different Negrosanon Filipino martial arts of arnis/eskrima.

The other CMAS chapters and their heads are CMAS-Main/Alunan (Founder James U. Sy Jr.), CMAS-Porferia (Founder Narciso “Hansy” L. Alojado), CMAS-USLS (Founders Alojado and Sy), CMAS-Eroreco (Victorio C. Perez), CMAS-Alijis (Dante L. Robles), CMAS-PNRC (Lafayette A. Diamante), and CMAS-Candoni (Pastor Leo B. Tabligan).

CMAS is a non-profit, non-political martial arts brotherhood organized to research, study, document, systematize, establish, stimulate interest in, promote, and/or propagate indigenous and foreign based Negrense Filipino martial arts and other Asian and Occidental martial arts in Bacolod City and the rest of the Negros Island, and if possible, in other parts of the Philippines and the world. It is dedicated to the development of physically, mentally, and spiritually superior men and women for the benefit and betterment of society.

Every CMAS branch has their own specialty but most of them focus on FMA. CMAS-Iloilo practices Lapu-Lapu Viñas arnis, oido de caburata, Togle style modern arnis , and Yasay sable.

CMAS-Iloilo has 6 members, all of whom are in the medical field. Plans are currently being ironed out for the group to travel to Bacolod City to study under the respective heads of the arts they are practicing.
