TAPADO REUNION A RESOUNDING

The Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association successfully held the 2006 Annual Tapado Assembly and Reunion on February 25, 2006 at the Paraiso Beach, Pta. Taytay, Bacolod City. Not less than aficionados from the old and new generation alike attended the gathering.

Grandmaster Benefredo “Bebing” M. Lobrido, nephew of the late founder and the 1st generation inheritor of Original Filipino Tapado, presided over the Assembly and Reunion. The 2006 Tapado Assembly and Reunion was the first one since the founder’s death last February 9, 2005.

Master of Ceremonies was Executive Secretary Elmer V. Montoyo. A report of the association’s achievements since its revival last year was presented to the officers and members. Among those achievements were the lection of the new set of officers (October 9, 2005), formation of committees (January 29, 2006), SEC Registration (December 16, 2005), mall demonstration (September 24, 2005), design of T-shirt/uniform, and the inclusion of the art and the association in FMA Circle of Negros island, the world’s foremost website on Negrnese Filipino martial arts and other Asian and Occidental arts practiced in Negros.

GM Lobrido led the roster of speakers, all of whom were old timers of tapado. Pasat President Benito M. Lopez Jr., Past Secretary Eduardo Magbanua, Jose R. Conado, Board Director Nelson G. Carmona, PIO Joe A. Pamilangco, Asst. Secretary Alfredo M. lobrido, Board Director Clodualdo M. Lobrido, and PIO Jinny Mamar all exp0ressed their joy, hopes, and support to the reactivation of the association and its future activities.

Members of the association partook on a simple lunch and later on logged in on the official Membership Book of the Original Filipino Tapado Long Stick Fighting Association as provided by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). A photo session followed.
